Sunfire High School is a tuition-free, in-person public charter high school in Oakland Park, Florida. We serve students who need a different kind of structure than a traditional high school offers: smaller classes, closer relationships, and a team that tracks their progress by name, every week.
Who we serve
We focus on a specific set of students we care deeply about.
- Students recovering lost credit.
- Students starting over after a school said “not here.”
- Teen parents and young adults balancing school with real responsibility.
- Students with learning or behavioral differences the traditional classroom wasn’t built for.
- Students navigating housing instability or family crisis.
Whatever brought a student to Sunfire, we ask one question: what do you need to finish?
How we’re structured
Intentional, by design.
- Small class sizes.
- A full-time licensed social worker on campus.
- A weekly Student Success Team that reviews every student by name.
- Four Career and Technical Education certification tracks: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Extended enrollment eligibility to age 21–22, and a Graduate Academy for students close to the finish line.
Where we come from, where we’re going
Sunfire is Cognia accredited and designated by the City of Oakland Park as a community school of choice.
